The Galați County Center for Excellence (Centrul Județean de Excelență Galați, Romania) is a public educational institution dedicated to identifying, supporting, and developing high-achieving and motivated students from Galați County. The center provides advanced learning opportunities for students with high academic potential across a wide range of disciplines.
Galați County Center for Excellence brings together approximately 450 students and a team of dedicated teachers and mentors who promote academic excellence, creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. Students participate in specialized programs in fields such as Mathematics, Informatics, Robotics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Languages, History, Foreign Languages and Academic Debates.
Beyond academic preparation and competition training, the center actively promotes international cooperation through Erasmus+ and eTwinning projects, encouraging intercultural dialogue, environmental awareness, digital skills, and active citizenship. Maria-Isabela Miron
is a history teacher and researcher from Galați, Romania. Holding a PhD in History, she is dedicated to promoting excellence in education through innovative teaching practices, academic research and the integration of digital tools in learning. As Headteacher of the Galați County Centre of Excellence, she works closely with talented students and educators, fostering high achievement, critical thinking, and a passion for lifelong learning.
An Erasmus+ Ambassador, Maria-Isabela Miron actively supports international cooperation, intercultural dialogue and the dissemination of European educational values. actively promotes international cooperation, intercultural dialogue, and the dissemination of European values through education. She has been involved in numerous national and international projects focused on sustainability, environmental protection and responsible citizenship, encouraging young people to become active participants in addressing global challenges. Alina-Ramona Vlad
is an English teacher at the Galați County Centre of Excellence, where she works with highly motivated students to develop advanced language, communication, and intercultural skills. Passionate about foreign language education she promotes interactive and learner-centered teaching approaches that encourage confidence, creativity, and independent thinking. Her professional interests include digital learning, international collaboration and the development of key competencies that prepare students for academic and professional success in an increasingly interconnected world.
With extensive experience in European educational projects, Alina Ramona Vlad actively contributes to initiatives that foster cultural exchange, environmental awareness and active participation in community life.
