Release of the 1st MicroPlastLess Newsletter

We are excited to publish the first Newsletter of The MicroPlastLess Project , summarizing our key milestones, research findings, and progress from January to August 2026.

The MicroPlastLess Project addresses the pressing environmental threat of microplastic pollution through innovative school education. By equipping teachers with accessible tools, structured lesson packages,
and game-based learning modules, the initiative aims to build critical thinking and foster long-term environmental responsibility among students across Europe.

Key Highlights from the First Period:

• Research & Needs Analysis Completed: The consortium successfully gathered input from over 700 participants—including students, teachers, and key educational stakeholders—alongside focus groups with school teachers. This data is currently being used to identify critical gaps in teaching resources and shape our upcoming Teacher Training Package in English.
• Transnational Partners Meeting in Denmark: Our next in-person partner meeting will take place on October 8–9, 2026, in Herning, Denmark, hosted by Aarhus University’s Department of Business Development and Technology. The team will focus on reviewing the Teacher Training Package, co-designing pilot testing protocols, and planning the next phase of implementation.
• Next Steps: The upcoming project phase will focus on finalizing the English Teacher Training Package into practical modules, developing game-based coursework, and setting up the framework for school pilot testing and workshops across partner institutions.
